Why solar shades are sunglasses for windows

January 05, 2019

Solar shades have been in the scene for a long time now. They are stylish to use and easy to maintain, so if you have been looking for the ideal window treatments, then you will find yourself right at home with these ones. At Green Country Shutters, we strive to bring you a diverse set of these types of shades, giving you a sense of flexibility and choice. Just because they are functional does not mean you have to stick to a dull spectrum of colors or patterns; we got pretty much every base covered. Now, you have heard that solar shades are like sunglasses for your windows, and there is a whole lot of reasons for that.

Minimizing glare

Just your sunglasses, these shades come in between your eyes and the outside word, regulating how you interact with the sun. When the shades are not in place, the glare from outside burns your eyes, making you squint and reducing your visibility. The direct glare also makes it hard to look outside. Solar shades absorb that glare, making sure that what reaches your eyes is filtered down to just about the right amount. The glare angle also works in other ways. For example, the shades have mechanisms to minimize the glare from the TV or any other electronics with a display. This makes things easy on your eyes.

The right shutters, window blinds and window shades need to come with privacy features. You don’t want the outside world to be able to stare at you while you are at the privacy of your home. You need the sense of comfort that comes with knowing that the outside world is blocked from your private world. Sunglasses are known to do that, allowing you to look around without people reading your eyes. Solar shades do exactly that; they are dark enough to keep the outside world out and insulate you from probing eyes. The levels of privacy you choose to acquire depends on the shades you want to go with-the darker the tone, the more privacy they are capable of offering.

Outward visibility

Some people worry that solar shades may be too dark to allow them a peep into the outside world. Nothing could be further from the truth. Depending on the type of shades you choose, you will still have a great view of the outside. This is so even when the shade is lowered all the way down.

Protection from the UV rays of the sun.

Ultra Violet Rays are known to cause all sorts of skin ailments, and that is why people choose to wear sunglasses.  You will be glad to know that solar shades come embedded with technologies that protect your eyes and skin from these harmful rays, keeping you safe at all times.
